More Holiday Lights

With all the rich food that’s served up this time of year, a dessert made from fruit juice is perfect. Here are two more recipes that are sure to please. As the tangerine sorbet does not include alcohol, it’s perfect for kids.

Tangerine Sorbet

The honey adds a nice sweetness to the fresh tangerines. If you have very sweet tangerines you can decrease the amount of honey. You can easily double this recipe. Use orange juice in place of tangerine juice, if desired.

Ingredients
2 cups fresh tangerine juice
¼ cup fresh lime juice
¼ cup honey
Instructions
1. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk to blend well. Chill well.
2. Pour into the canister of an ice-cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions (or for granita, pour mixture into a 9-by-9-inch pan, and freeze 8 hours, scraping occasionally with a fork). Spoon into a freezer-safe container; cover and freeze 1 hour or until firm. Serves 4.
