Relish Editor Jill Melton taught classes at the famed Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico, in December 2007. The fitness and vacation spa began in 1940 in a sheltered valley only an hour’s drive from San Diego, California. Hands-On Cooking Class

Here’s the menu that Jill presented during a three-hour hands-on cooking class at Rancho La Puerta. The group of 16 divided up into 8 pairs and each made a recipe.

Rancho La Puerta Demonstration Class

During a demonstration class at Rancho La Puerta, Jill explored the versatility of relishes, salsas and pestos. They’re all loaded with flavor and are great to have on-hand for dipping or dolloping over fish, beans or potatoes.
