baked Apples
Hi, I am trying to find a simple recipe for baking a whole apple. Every recipe board I enter "baked apples" I just get recipes for baked things with apples in it. I want to know how to bake an apple. My Mother used to bake apples , coring them and putting brown sugar in the whole and bakeing the apples in a pan. I dont know the details . Could anyone help me?

Core the apples being careful not to go all the way through the bottom. You want the ingredients to stay in the hole. Fill the hole with brown sugar and a little cinnamon. Top with a small piece of butter (the real stuff is best). Bake in an oven safe dish or pan, or in individual custard cups. 350 degrees until the apple flesh is soft. Time will depend on the kind of apples used. Tart varieties are best.
