According to cocktail lore, the legendary Mint Julep cocktail was first made with Cognac (or another brandy) before Kentucky Bourbon edged it out as the spirit of choice. Cognac makes it one smooth Julep!
Ingredients
6 mint leaves
1 teaspoon sugar syrup
2 ounces Cognac
Crushed ice
Instructions
1. Place mint leaves in a short tumbler; press with a muddler or the back of a spoon to break up leaves and release the mint’s fragrance. Stir in sugar syrup. Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice; add Cognac and stir well to make the glass frosty.
